A center finder for small collets
Having a small milling machine that sometimes is used to make some milling work to modify parts, a center finder is a must have tool.
The center finder was made for 6mm collets with a center removed from a edge and center finder. The spring is adjustable with a setscrew.
The parts for the center finder: the center, a spring from a ball pen and a 4mm setscrew. The setscrew is fitted on the spring, just like the center.
The 6mm end of the center finder was drilled and tapped to M4 thread, so it is easy to assemble and to adjust the spring. To assemble it, place the center with the spring and the setscrew into the center finder shaft and rotate the setscrew counter clockwise.
Here is the center finder being used on a 6mm collet to align a part on the milling table.
